It was leafbare, and it was very cold on the moor, with a slight amount of protection from the winds that gave her Clan their name. Hawkstar had her pelt fluffed out, as a barrier against said winds. Even so, she was cold. Things in the camp were moving slowly, and after she finished the skinny rabbit she was currently eating, she thought that maybe she would retreat to her hollow under the tree stump, where it was somewhat warm. Hawkstar took another bite of rabbit and looked around with sharp amber eyes.

Hawkpelt walked over to the freshkill pile. He saw Hawkstar eating a very skinny rabbit, leafbare was giving horrible hunting on the moor and the cold winter night were terrible. Hawkpelt decided to meow a greeting to his Leader,"Hello Hawkstar, how are you doing this fine, cold day?" He looked for something good to eat as he waited for Hawkstar's response.

Hawkstar smiled at Hawkpelt, one of her senior warriors. "There are some halfway decent rabbits on the other side. They're not much, but it is leafbare. And I'm okay, I guess, freezing though."

"Im feeling the same and I think I''ll have one of those rabbits," replied Hawkpelt as he chose one of the rabbits. He thought about going hunting to get more food for the freshkill pile, but decided not to since the hunting patrols had already left. He finished his rabbit, then walked over to the warrior's den to get out of the cold.

Hawkstar watched him go, and finished her rabbit. She looked around the camp one more time, then retreated from the wind to her den. She circled around in her moss nest, and laid down to wait for the hunting patrols to get back, curling her tail over her nose.
